We only collect information necessary for the functionality and improvement of the Circles App. The information we collect falls into two main categories:

A. Information You Voluntarily Provide

This is information you actively share with us, such as when you create an account or interact with the App.

• Account Registration Data: Your username, display name and email address.
• User Content: Any music links, posts, comments, and profile or playlist photos you upload or create.
• Communications: Information you provide when you contact us for support or feedback.

B. Information Collected Automatically

When you use the App, we automatically collect certain data about your device and usage.

• Device Information: Device ID, Operating System version, Device type
• Usage Data: Information about how you use the App, such as the features you access, the time and duration of your activity, and music genres you interact with.
• Technical Information: Crash data.

2. Use of Sensitive Permissions (Camera)

Google Play requires clear disclosure of the collection and use of sensitive data.

The Circles App may request access to your device’s Camera.

• Type of Data Collected: Photos/images taken directly using the camera within the App.
• Purpose of Collection: We request camera access solely to allow you to take and upload a profile picture if you wish to do so.
• Data Storage: The photo you choose to upload is stored on our secure servers and is associated with your account for the functionality of the App. We do not access or collect your camera feed or photos without your explicit consent at the time of use.
• Revoking Consent:You may revoke camera access at any time through your device’s operating system settings, though this may prevent you from taking a new profile picture.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• To Provide and Maintain the Circles App and its core functions (e.g., account creation, sharing music).
• To Personalize your experience (e.g., recommending music and users).
• To Communicate with you, including sending updates, security alerts, and support messages.
• For Monitoring and Analytics to improve the App’s performance and features (using data like Usage Data).
• To Protect the security and integrity of the App and to prevent fraud.

4. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

• With Your Consent: We will share your personal information when you have given us your explicit consent to do so (e.g., sharing your profile name and photos with other users).
• Third-Party Service Providers: We work with Google Cloud to perform services on our behalf, such as data hosting, analytics, and security. These providers are obligated to protect your information and only use it for the purposes we direct.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court order).
• Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

• Retention: We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide you with the Circles App and for legitimate and essential business purposes, such as maintaining the performance of the App, making data-driven business decisions, and fulfilling our legal obligations.
• Deletion: You have the right to request the deletion of your account and associated personal data. To do so, please contact us at developers@circles.my. We will process your request within 30 days, subject to any legal retention requirements.

6. Children’s Privacy

The Circles App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the App and on our website. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
